View this post on Instagram Hey mama, can I tell you something? It’s not your fault the laundry is piling up, that dishes are overflowing in the sink. That it’s been three nights in a row you’ve ordered takeaway. You’re still rocking it mama, motherhood can be just that difficult. It’s not your fault that your marriage isn’t what it used to be. That you’re too exhausted to be with each other. That you haven’t had a date night since the baby came, no family or no village or just not trusting anyone to do what you know you’re the best at can make it impossible. But you’re doing great mama. Parenting is just hard. It’s not your fault that your mental health is suffering, and you’re stressed and explosive some days. That your kids get the end of you instead of what you hoped would be the best. But you’re doing such a good job, Motherhood is just really hard. It’s not your fault you had postnatal depression, that you take medication to keep the demons away. That crying in the toilet seems the only sweet relief you get to let it all out. You’re still trying mama, motherhood just takes so much out of us and that’s hard. It’s not your fault that everyone around you seems to be acing this parenting job, that no one else is struggling to feed their baby, that everywhere you look, mothers are adapting so well to their new life. They aren’t struggling to leave the house. They aren’t rattled by their birth, and they all seem to be able to keep their shit together. Its not your fault you wonder why you are the only one who struggles? I promise you aren’t the only one, motherhood is just that hard. On everyone. It’s hard, it’s work, it’s tiring and it’s guilt provoking. All these things are real to you because you’re working hard at it. It’s the hardest job in the world, but you’re the best one at it. You’re not failing, you don’t suck, you are not to blame. You are loved, you are worthy, you are, the best parent to your child. So when things get tough, just remind yourself.. I’m doing my best and some days, sometimes, all the time, motherhood can be just that hard. A post shared by Laura Mazza (@themumontherun_) on Feb 26, 2019 at 12:00am PST
